Who We Are

We are redeemed ones – God loves us and sent his son Jesus Christ to die on a cross in order that our sins might be forgiven and our broken relationship with Him restored.

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 ESV

We are blessed ones – We did not earn God’s forgiveness. It was freely given to us through Jesus’ death and resurrection. As blessed ones he is calling us to bless others.

Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. Genesis 12:1-2

We are family – God has adopted us as his sons and daughters. As his adopted children we are now part of a new family. We live and relate to one another as a family.

In love he predestined us for adoption as sons (and daughters) through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will to the praise of his glorious grace... Ephesians 1:5-6

We are missionaries – We have been given a mission to demonstrate and declare the reality of the Gospel and to make disciples. We do not exist for ourselves or the establishment of our own cause or culture.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

We are Servants – Jesus is our example. In humility he took on the form of a man, humbled himself and came to serve, even to the point of death on the cross. Like Jesus, we have been commissioned as servants to the world and in our family.

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Philippians 2:5-8
